Borough Plan Consultation
TVBC’s Full Council took the decision to abandon the current plan-making system at their meeting on 22nd July. Work will now start on a Local Plan that looks ahead to April 2028. TVBC is not alone in its decision: East Hampshire and Winchester are progressing under the new plan-making system, and New Forest are reviewing their current position of progressing with preparing a local plan under the existing but now legacy plan-making system. The new timetable is:
- Oct-Dec 2026 Publish timetable and notice to commence plan-making
- By Apr 2027 Publish self-assessment summary
- Apr 2028 Transition to Mid Hampshire Local Plan
- By Apr 2029 Consultation on plan content and evidence and Gateway 3 Consultation on proposed Local Plan
- By Oct 2029 Submission, Examination and Adoption
How this will affect the parishes will emerge in due course. The roundup of comments at Annex 1 for the now legacy Reg 18 revision shows a wealth of reasons why the proposed large developments for this area are a bad idea when critical infrastructure is not up to standard.
